James W. Johnson
James W Johnson, originally from Upstate NY, received an MFA from Texas Tech University in 1981 and has spent over 80,000 hours making art in Lubbock. He has created over 2,000 paintings, drawings, sculptures, etching, mixed media, and furniture pieces, half of which are in private and public collections around the world, including The Museum of Texas Tech University. Johnson’s art has been included in over 200 exhibitions and competitions and he was co-recipient of the 2011 Willian D, Kerns Award in the Visual Arts from LHUCA.
