Abed Monawar was born in Doha, Qatar in 1973. In 1990 he moved to Damascus, Syria where he graduated from Dental School in Damascus University in 1997. Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, he earned a Master of Arts Degree in Anthropology from Texas Tech University in 2006. Between the years of 2010 and 2014, Abed followed his artistic passion as a gallery assistant, custom frame shop manager, and as a featured artist at Charles Adams Gallery in Lubbock, Texas. Abed has participated in several exhibitions in Lubbock and nationwide since 2008 and is currently working as an Academic Advisor for The School of Theatre & Dance at Texas Tech University.
